Tropic Sun Theatre in asociation with Darwin Theatre Company, JUTE and Crosroad Arts presents
FUTZ
by Rochelle Owens
Directed by Karen Gibb
(a Theatre to the Edge presentation)

" A world where George Orwell
meets Rocky Horror Picture Show"

Escape to the quirky world of FUTZ that has been performed across the planet, including Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Avignon, Paris and Berlin festivals.

FUTZ is written by one of the world’s most innovative and controversial writers of her generation, awardwinning Rochelle Owens, whose experimental feats on Off-Off Broadway theatre have been received with such delight they have earned her a theatrical cult-following by audiences worldwide. Described as ‘joyous surges of energy’ by the New York Times, this story unveils a cheeky world of off-the-wall theatre.

Love. Sin. Virtue. Vengeance. Murder.

A 'funny farm' adventure about a pig farmer, Cyrus Futz, who loves (a little too much) his pig Amanda, and therefore does disservice to the town tart, Majorie Satz. After witnessing Futz ‘at play’ in the farmyard, nutty Oscar Loop is moved to murder leatherloving Ann Fox in a mad attempt to preserve the purity of the natural world.

In a moral pig-sty chain of events, Loop must die, Majorie must be avenged, and Futz must have his happy home life drowned in a ritual blood bath. You’ll squeal with glee.
