Backing Queensland's Artists

Queensland Arts Council supports Queensland's artists in many ways. Through professional employment, funding, scholarships, mentorships, advice, workshops, or maybe just a point in the right direction.

Employment

Queensland Arts Council remains one of the state’s leading creators of employment for Queensland artists: 
In an single year, QAC's programs employ around 1,300 artists and artsworkers for a collective 1,500 weeks for activities and performances statewide and nationally.

In the past two years:

  • QAC in partnership with Arts Queensland, presented, managed and coordinated 17 theatre productions throughout regional Queensland. Of these, eight were by Queensland playwrights and seven productions were new Queensland works.
  • QAC has presented 180 theatre performances written by Queenslanders, delivered to regional Queensland.
  • QAC has delivered 57 Workshops and Master Classes in theatre production, playwriting and professional theatre development skills to schools students and professionals all over the state.
